Iguanas de Trapo was a dynamic and influential band that emerged onto the Venezuelan music scene in 1995. Hailing from Caracas, they became synonymous with the vibrant energy of Alternative Rock. Drawing inspiration from genres like grunge, power pop, and hard rock, Iguanas de Trapo crafted a distinctive sound that resonated with listeners both nationally and internationally.
Known for their electrifying live performances, the band established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the rock circuit of the capital region. Their music captivated audiences, creating an immersive experience that left lasting impressions.
With their debut album “Lunes”, released in 2001, Iguanas de Trapo unlocked a world of opportunities, including sharing the stage with renowned acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2002. Their second LP, “Un Día Más,” released in 2005, showcased their growth as artists and featured collaborations with Jean De Oliveira from Candy66.
Iguanas de Trapo’s talent extends beyond their studio recordings, as evidenced by the success of their single “Sálvame,” which climbed to an impressive #6 position on the Venezuelan pop/rock charts in 2005. This accomplishment further solidified their position in the history of Venezuelan rock.
